Week 7 Story: Bhima in the WWE

Bhima in the WWE

"Standing 8 feet 2 inches tall! Weighing in at 540 pounds of straight musssscle!! Bhiiiiimaaaa!!"

cried the Monday Night Raw announcer. Out came the hulking figure of Bhima. He paused in a

power stance at the top of the walkway. Standing there, he flexed his mountainous muscles as he

beheld the crowd of 20,000+ screaming fanatics. He twirled his handlebar mustache before

continuing on course towards the ring.

Once he reached it, he leaped up onto the apron and proceeded to step over the top rope with his

people-sized legs. He swung his massive arms up above his head and roared at the audience. In some

spots, loud cheers erupted. In others, there was nothing but awe and silence. "Who is this man!?

Where did they find this beast!?" asked many of the spectators.

"Alright folks! Newcomer Bhima here is going to take on 40 wrestlers who will all enter

periodically, one after another, similar to a battle royale match. He has boastfully claimed that he will

throw all of them out of the ring and win the battle royale by himself!" shouted the ring announcer.

"Let's start bringing 'em out!" With that, entrance theme music started playing and the first

wrestler burst out of the back and raced towards the ring. He was small and agile, and so, he slid into

the ring on his belly. He didn't even have time to jump up before Bhima gripped his neck with one

whopping hand and the man's tights with the other. Bhima jolted him up and lifted him overhead. The

man was carried around by Bhima in this way for a few seconds as the crowd became mesmerized.

Then, Bhima proceeded to throw the man out of the ring as gently as possible. The man still flew over

the ringside wall into the first few rows of the audience.

This all took place in the first 10 seconds but each wrestler was timed to come out in 30 second

intervals. So Bhima just sat down in the middle of the ring and waited for the next wrestler to come

out. When the next entrance theme started playing, Bhima grumbled and stood up. This next man was

larger, about 6'4". Bhima let the guy come up to him and throw the first punch. The man's fist hit

Bhima's peck but Bhima was unthrottled. The crowd let out an "ooooo!" and the man looked scared.

He threw a rapid fire of punches to try and affect Bhima in some way. All of it was to no avail and

yawning Bhima decided to reach down and grab the man's head. The large wrestler was picked up

with one hand and thrown into the crowd.

The wrestlers all kept coming in 30 second intervals but Bhima was taking care of them too fast.

At his own request, the intervals were shortened to 10 seconds. Bhima still found this to be all too

easy as he tossed each wrestler and sent them diving over the top rope like fish. Bhima even decided

to use a decent amount of his strength when throwing one of the men and that man went soaring up

into the nosebleeds!

When Bhima no longer found the 10 second intervals to be amusing, he shouted "bring out all of

the rest!!" With no hesitation from the people who were organizing the match, all 20 wrestlers who

were yet to have their turn with Bhima scrambled towards the ring. They all dove in and Bhima went

into action, throwing two or even three people out at once!

The last 20 wrestlers were finished off in less than a minute and Bhima hadn't even broken a

sweat. He still held his full composure and was breathing normally, as if nothing took place in the last

few eventful minutes.

*Author's Note: As I was reading the Mahabharata, the character of Bhima was being pressed into my mind as the obvious 'muscle' of the Pandava Princes. It was insane how massive and powerful the giant character was. He was described as running through jungles with his mom on his back, two of his brothers on his shoulders, and two more being tucked underneath his armpits! I also imagine that those other Pandava brothers are no midgets themselves. Similar to how Hanuman's athleticism inspired me to write a story featuring him in the Olympics, the legendary strength and physical power of Bhima made me wonder how a figure like that would fare in professional wrestling. I think my mental image is pretty accurate.

  1. Hi Ethan! This story you have created is too awesome. I never imagine transitioning a traditional, folk story to a modern, WWE! Your story is very creative with Bhima being 540 pounds of straight muscle and is 8 feet 2 inches tall. He seemed like a heavy fella that could never be brought down. Overall, great job on your story and good luck with your semester!

  2. Hey Ethan,

You are so creative and good at writing. You are totally changed up the epic to the current world. The change is really good and I really liked it. WWE is something that I used to watch and found interesting so reading it about the epics made it really nice. I really look forward to reading more of your stories and see how you are going to change it up. Good luck!

  3. What’s up Ethan!
The story you just told was so creative, and kind of crazy. I haven’t ever seen the juristic change from an old traditional, folk story to a now in day WWE. IT was very creative having Bhima being pure muscle at 540 lbs and being eight foot two inches tall. And if it were me I would have looked at him and never thought he could be brought down! Good luck with the story and good luck with the semester!

  5. Hey Ethan, you've once again written a very interesting story! I found myself at the edge of my seat while reading your story and wondering what was going to happen next. Bhima sure is a beast but I never would've guessed he was that beastly until reading your story, I now have a new idea of who this Bhima is. I also liked that the story took place in a WWE type of setting because most people have watched a match and can visualize what is happening. Great story!

  7. Hey Ethan,

This story was so clever! I was driven in by just your title of bringing in the WWE, haha! 8'2 is freakishly tall and weighing 520 lbs?! That's crazy! Competing against twenty wrestlers under a minute without breaking a sweat? What scary man Bhima is!

  9. Hey Ethan,
I really loved this story and it was a great read. This was very interesting and keeps the reader's attention for every word. It shows just how powerful Bhima is with his ability to demolish 40 men without showing any signs of fatigue. This showed a lot of your creativity being able to coke up with this story.
