     Reading Notes:

     * The monkeys build a bridge to Lanka. 

     * They attack the rakshasas and a great battle ensues. 

     * Many powerful rakshasas are slain.

     * Ravana has his subjects wake Khumbakarna with music, dancing, and elephants. None of which work. Finally, he awakens to beautiful women caressing him. 

     * Khumbakarna is fed swine, deer, and humans.

     * He's not satisfied and goes to the battlefield to devour the monkeys.

     * Thousands of monkeys are devoured by Khumbakarna. He also injures Hanuman and captures Sugriva. 

     * Rama defeats Khumbakarna. 

     * Indrajit joins the fight.

     * Indrajit unleashes his Brahmastra. Only Hanuman is left standing. 

     * Hanuman jumps back across the sea, over India, to the Himalayas. He brings the whole mountain range back over the sea so that he can provide its healing herbs to his allies.

     * They are healed and the battle ensues again.

     * Indrajit is killed by Lakshmana.

     * Ravana nearly kills Lakshmana.

     * Rama defeats Ravana. 

     * Sita is brought to Rama. 

     * Rama rejects Sita.

     * The Fire god, Agni, attests to her purity and Rama takes her back. 

     * Rama and Sita take Ravana's flying chariot back to Ayodhya. 

     * Rama is finally crowned King.

     * He rejects Sita once more.

     * Sita goes into the southern jungle to live in a hermitage. While there, she gives birth to two sons.

     * Rama encounters his two sons near the hermitage. They sing him the Ramayana and he knows they are his sons. 

     * Brahma informs Rama of his true nature. 

     * Sita leaves Earth and resumes her true form as Lakshmi. 

     * Rama's brother all leave and resume their parts as pieces of Vishnu. 

     * Rama finally leaves and becomes the fourth part of Vishnu in Heaven. 

     * Many of the monkeys and bears follow him, except Hanuman. He is to live forever on the earth. 

     * Some others are given life on earth until the end of the Kali Yuga.
